One Fry Short

Hello crafters!!  Today is a dreary day here so, I thought this was a fitting card.   I love this saying so, I used it for a Get Well card for a friend's husband who just had surgery.  I kind of forgot to write all the details down for this one so, forgive me if I am wrong.   The paper is from My Mind's Eye - Lime Twist 'Fly a Kite' 6x6 stack.   I embossed the kraft paper block with the seeing spots folder and then mounted the fries that were cut from the Fast Food cartridge at 3".
I printed the sentiment on the front and then stamped the one in the inside, which is from Fiskar's.

Baby Shower Card

One of my favorite co-workers is pregnant so I made this card for her shower.   I chose the Damask cartridge because the crib bedding that she picked out (and we bought for her) is the same design with the same colors.

The base of the card is white with a pink mat and then a piece of white and a piece of green that I embossed with the Cuttlebug baby folder and inked in pink so they would stand out.

I cut the Damask 15, silhouette cut at 4" and then pop dotted an epoxy sentiment from Making Memories, that says 'Cherish the Moments', to the center of the damask.
On the inside, I used two pieces of paper again, pink and green and then punched the corners using a Fiskars corner punch.   The stamped sentiment is from Sandylion.

Flowers for BD

A good friend saw the flowers that I made for my mom's birthday a few months ago and loved them so, I decided to make her a bouquet for her birthday, which happened to be the week before we moved but I was determined.  So, you probably guessed that my craft stuff was being packed on moving day...lol.

I bought a $1 container from Target and then used a piece of recycled Styrofoam for the inside and then topped it with some green paper shreds.

The flowers were all cut from the Mother's Day Bouquet cartridge in various sizes using some solid paper and paper from the K & Co., Amy Butler Designs, stack.  I also used various brads for the centers of the flowers and dimensional foam between the layers.

Each flower is attached to a skewer that was inked in green.  I also ink the edges of the flowers and use a pencil to curl the petals either in or out.  These are a great alternative to real flowers and people really love them!

Itty Bitty Birdie Birthday

Today I have another Paper Lace birthday card.   I cut theHapbyBdy1 cut at 5" again but then I decided that a mat layer would be nice and the bird and leaves would really stand out if I put the blue paper under them.   I cut those by hand and taped them to the back of the cut and added a little shimmery brown gem for the bird's eye.

Valentine Card Box

Hello and Happy Valentine's Day Weekend!!!  I wanted to post this VD card box that we made for my son's 2nd grade Valentine's party this past week.    The 'box' was a large oatmeal container that I cut to make a mouth.   I used two strips each of 2" and 1 1/2" off white paper, traces triangles one after another and then cut them out to make the double rows of teeth on each side of his mouth.   I attached them by scoring the strips at 1/2" and then folding the paper rows of teeth over the outside of the box and attaching with glue.   Then, I traced each side onto Co'ordinations paper and cut it and glued it on.   The top of the shark is an ocean blue color and the bottom is a whitewash with a light blue core that I sanded to look like the belly of a shark.   The eyes were done with different sized hole punches.  The gills were actually cut using the Wild Card 2 cartridge, the whisk card at 5", just the whisk and then I cut it up to easily make gills but you could do this by hand.   Last, the waves at the bottom to look like the shark jumping out of the water, border punched on two different colors of paper using an EK Success border punch.

Koi

I cut this koi fish at 4" using Pagoda back in the fall and then decided not to use it for the card I was making.   I ran across it the other day and decided I needed to use it for something.  I cut the shadow in a forest green solid card stock and then the top two layers using shimmery paper.   The embossing folder I used was the diamonds from Sizzex.

I mounted the koi on a sheet form the DCWV Far East stack and then the white shimmer paper underneath.   It's hard to tell in the picture but, the mat below is the opposite: the Far East paper with the shimmer mounted on top.

The fabric brad is from K & Co. Marcella line and the green sheet is the shimmer paper used for the fish.   The stamp is from a set that I won and the ribbon is from American Crafts, from this past Thanksgiving.

The inside, I used the same orange card stock and two strips of the Far East and white shimmer paper.

Live Loud!

Super fun card today.   A birthday card using the headphones from the Wrap It Up cartridge.  I cut it at 4" in black and then the layer in gray.  The mat paper is from the K&Co Daydreams stack.  The stamp is from Imaginisce and I added a blue star brad to the 'o'.

So, here's how I made this card fun!  I took the layers for the ear foam and covered both of them with ATG tape and then piece of cotton balls on the top.  Then, I cut strips of electrical tape and covered the layer.   It gives a 3D foam look to the headphones.   But, I couldn't stop.   I cut a small piece of silver braided rope (Christmas ribbon) and then I cut another strip of electrical tape, longer than the rope, and wrapped the rope in the tape so that it appears to look like the cord of the headphones.   The extra length in tape was taped under the headphones and behind the mat so that there wasn't a lump under the mat.   I twisted the 'cord' into a circle and then used a glue dot to hold it in a circle.

The inside sentiment is from a graduation stamp set and the guitar is from Imaginisce, with a green strip of ribbon added.   I really like the effects on this card...they rocked.

Fear the Roo

Hello all!  I am trying to get back into the swing of things with blogging.   Today, I have a card that I made for my little sis, who just recently graduated from college!   Sooooo super proud of her!  Her school mascot is a kangaroo so, I used the little baby kangaroo on B is for Boy to start this card.  He is so super cute and possibly the cut that sold me on this cartridge so, I HAD to use it!   I cut it at 4 1/2" in brown papers.

The school mascot is named zippy so, I used an old zipper as my 'ribbon' on this one.   The frame was cut at 1 1/4" from Once Upon a Princess and the sentiment was printed off the computer.   The corners were cut from an EK Success punch and the paper from GCD, the Chic Babe stack
On the inside, I used left over paper and the rest of my computer printed sentiment.   It was a real hit!

One Year Wiser

Today I have a quick card that I made using the owl from Cindy Loo.  This was a super quick card and I didn't write down any of the details.   I believe the owl was at 3" and the mat paper was from a DCWV stack.  I added some sheer cream ribbon, looped around several times and then a birthday sentiment.

Love of a Family

Today's card I started out making as a birthday card for my grandma but, now I think I might make it her Mother's Day card.   I was inspired by the main paper, from the My Mind's Eye Stella Rose set.

So, my first cut was the center cut which was the Joy cut on the Lacy Labels cartridge, cut at 3".   I did the base in a salmon color and the decorative top layer in brown and then I added the stamped sentiment from Fiskars 'Family' set.

My next cut was the frame cut from the house card on the Just Because Cards cartridge.   I cut it at 5" using paper from Colorbok.   I pink inked the edges of it and then stamped the left and right side with a scroll stamp from an Inkadinkadoo set, in brown.  I added a strip of salmon paper before I glued the frame onto the card.

The light colored paper on top of the blue frame is from DCWV Linen Closet and inked in blue.   Then I pop dotted the round frame onto the top.

Inside is the left over My Mind's Eye paper, cut into three strips.
