Down for the Count

My son is on the youth wrestling team so, I thought this would be fitting for a coach or for him next season.   I used the Sports Mania cartridge for this one.   I cut the 'Down for the Count' phrase at 3 3/4" and then the wrestlers at 2 1/2", with the layers.

The mat paper is from American Crafts Travel collection and the inside sentiment is from Studio G.

Taking Cancer Down

As some of you know, we moved last year into a new home.  Not only do we love our house but, we love the new neighbors and friends we have met!  We've become friends with a strong family, with 5 kids, the youngest is 5 years old and he was diagnosed with leukemia when he was almost 2.   He has recently finished chemo and the family is having a big party for him so, this card is for him!
This little boy and his family are largely involved in our school's wrestling program so, I used the Sports Mania cartridge and cut this wrestling statement at 2 1/2" using the 'sayings' feature.  The mat paper is from the American Crafts Travel collection and the inside sentiment was printed by me.

Goooooooo Irish

My husband is a huge Notre Dame University fan. For his birthday I made him this easel card using Varsity Letter and Design Studio. The ND monogram is about 4" tall. The background football field was all cut on the trimmer and then the lines glued down. The uprights are cut from the football cut on the Sports Mania cartridge and the football button is from Making Memories.

The inside was two, 2 1/2" x 6 3/4" sheets mounted. The top one I added a border sticker from a scrapbook ND set and then I printed a sentiment on my computer. On the bottom half, I used more stickers from that same set and then pop dotted so that the card will stand

End of Summer Carnival Party

My son was invited to a Carnival themed birthday party so, I was trying to come up with a boy birthday card when I realized that I haven't done anything with my Summer Vacation cartridge and there are some perfect carnival cuts on there. I picked the ferris wheel. I cut it at 4" using the DCWV Haunting stack. Then I decided to create a shadow. I used Design Studio and did the ferris wheel at 4 1/4" and then did a hide contour on all of the interior cuts. Once I cut it, I trimmed the edges where the carriages were over hanging. In the center of the ferris wheel, I added a brad from a summer beach brad set that I got in the Target dollar bin (big shock right?).

I mounted the ferris wheel on the star printed paper from the Paper Studio A Boys Universe stack. I added two thin strips of yellow paper across the top and bottom that I also embossed with the Cuttlebug dots folder. The stamped 'make a wish' across the bottom is from a KI Icons birthday set.

At the top, the banner was cut using the Sports Mania cartridge. The banner key, border function at 1" on some striped paper and then pop dotted. I added some more banner and a quick Happy Birthday sentiment on the inside. Now, we're ready to go!

Golf BD Card

I made this quick golfer BD card for a friend's husband. He loves golf & Carolina Blue!! I used a standard A2 sized card. The Sports Mania cartridge, male golfer, using the frame function. The rest I cut with my trimmer. I was giving my friend a quick Cricut how to while she was here for a visit so, as I said, it was a quick card.

Happy Birthday Ro!

This is the card I made for my sister's birthday. I embossed the blue & green backgrounds with the Argyle folder and then cut the lady golfer a couple of times as I didn't like the color. When I cut the blackout for it, there was no way I would be able to line up the golf club when glueing so, I cut the black out club off and glued the pink one right to the paper. I also cut the hills, golf ball, sandy area, and flag & pole by hand since they were pretty east cuts. And the inside sentiment was recylced from a greeting card that I received for my BD. :) This was an A2 card and the golfer was cut using Sports Mania.

MPS Father's Day Challenge

My Father's Day Card for the MPS Challenge. We love football so I thought this would be a good one. Next best thing to an ND football card. :) Used DS to weld the Blackout football from Sports Mania together (flipped one so that they fold together correctly) and then cut the football out at 5 1/4". Used Plantin Schoolbook to make the words. All colored paper is Core'dinations cardstock.

Loot bags for the soccer team...also using Sports Mania cartridge.

Coach Card

Made this card for the soccer coach for the end of the 7-0 season they had. Used Sports Mania for the soccer balls & 'coach' and then created the 'You're the Best' on DS with the A Child's Year cartridge.
