Mom's Day Flourish

Mother's Day is just around the corner I'm still using up some of the negative cuts from some large Damask cuts that I did last year.   The purple flourish above is one of those.   The framed sentiment is from the Twinkle Toes cartridge at 2" and then the top, teal layer was hand cut using a corner rounder on the corners.   I added some teal pearls that are matched to Core'Dinations colors and a stamped sentiment from Studio G.   The embossing folder is Victoria from Cuttlebug.

Lego Birthday Card

Today I have my lego birthday card that I made for my son's birthday.   The paper is the same paper used on the invitation, from Creative Imaginations.   I used a large green piece as the 'plate' and then cut smaller pieces for the boarder and layered them using pop dots so they were raised as if lego's were being stacked.
The lego man head was a another story!  I used a layer from the Robotz cartridge that was half of the shape of the legoman head.  The cut was the Robot39 font cut, using Design Studio at 3".   I stretched it a little for more of a square shape and then copy and pasted the same shape onto itself but, rotated the top shape, turning it upside down. I welded the two shapes together and this is what I got.   I did have to trim the top and bottom down so that the lego 'knobs' weren't too long.
Then, onto the face.  I cut the mount and eyebrows using the Twinkle Toes cartridge, Dancer5 layer shift at 6" for the mouth and 3" for the eye brows.   The eyes were hole punched.   I printed the sentiment and framed it.

the inside was framed with each color lego paper and then a few random, falling blocks.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Lego Game Container

Obviously more lego paper used on this project...the band around the front, the band around the lid and the tent card on the top with the game question.
For the legoman head, I used a layer from the Robotz cartridge that was half of the shape of the legoman head. The cut was the Robot39 font cut, using Design Studio at 6". I stretched it a little for more of a square shape and then copy and pasted the same shape onto itself but, rotated the top shape, turning it upside down. I welded the two shapes together and this is what I got. I did have to trim the top and bottom down so that the lego 'knobs' weren't too long.
For the face. I cut the mount and eyebrows using the Twinkle Toes cartridge, Dancer5 layer shift at 6" for the mouth and 3" for the eye brows. The eyes were hole punched.

Lil Dancer

I have a few little dancers that I know and although my daughter isn't yet, she could be!  This card was for my son's friend, who is a little dancer.   The mat paper is from Cosmo Cricket 2wentythr3e collection.  The ribbon is velvet laser cut adhesive from Oriental Trading.
The dancer is from the Twinkle Toes cartridge, dancer9 at 4", with the layers and gems in her hair bows.   The sentiment on the front is from fiskars and the inside is from Scrappy Cat.

Elegant & Untraditional & BLOG CANDY

I'm still posting some Christmas work since I hadn't gotten to it during December so, sorry if you're already out of the spirit.  :)  I made a Christmas card that was not the traditional Christmas look.   Love how this turned out.
I started with a solid brown card base and then a gold vellum mat and a brown flourish print that was flocked.   The print is from the DCWV Mainstreet stack.  I started with some unfolded cream raffia and then used a plain brown ribbon on top, that I hand pleated.  At the bottom of the ribbon, I added a gold glittered American Crafts brad.

The fancy gold 'sprig' was cut from a plastic decorative pick and I sewed it to the card mat so that it was sure to stay put.  The mounted sentiment was cut from the Twinkle Toes cartridge.   This cartridge is great for frames!!  I cut the Stagefrgt cut at 2 1/4" with the layer.  The stamped sentiment is from Scrappy Cat.   I stamped it in brown onto vellum.
On the inside, I used a sentiment from American Crafts Dear Lizzy line and then added two leaves cut from the front sprig and another small piece of brown ribbon.
DON'T FORGET to check my January 1 blog post HERE for the BLOG CANDY that I still have listed!

Be Natural, Celebrate You!

Now that I am done posting the pictures from the 'Adding to the Nest' baby shower, I am going to post the rest of my cards that were published in the Cricut magazine.   This one was the third one from January 2012.  Lots of dots going on here!

The mat paper on this card is from the DCWV Lemon Flower stack (that I LOVE).  The base of the card is 4x6 and I left the mat 3 1/2" x6 so there isn't a border at the top or bottom.   The elephant is cut from Twinkle Toes at 3", ran it through the cuttlebug using the Seeing Spots folder and then added some yellow stickles to her skirt and crown.  The tag is also from the same cartridge.   I cut the black bottom layet at 2" and the top at 1 3/4" so that there would be a border around the yellow paper.

The ribbon is from Michael's and the stamp from Studio G.   I added a Hampton Arts stamp inside as well as the negative cuts from the yellow layer of the tag.

Sympathy

I was able to get the Twinkle Toes Lite cartridge the day after Thanksgiving at Walmart and one of the reasons I wanted it was for the frames. LOVE the frames. I've made a similar style card using different cartridges....I think this style is my go to for Sympathy cards. I don't enjoy making them at all. The paper is from the DCWV Latte stack and the ribbon is from American Crafts.
