Christ is Born

Another version of the nativity card here.   I started with the Little Yellow Bicycle, 25 Days of Christmas photo mat paper, that is glossy.   The nativity is cut at 3 3/4" from Inspired Heart, with the shadow.  The sentiment is from Studio G on a frame that I made using a Fiskar's corner punch.   I added two different ribbons from Joanns, the gold velvet and the green crochet.   Right before I was done, I got glue on the thin edge of the cut, where you see the red gems.   So, I added those three red gems, the three green on the right side of the cut and two of each to the sentiment to cover the flaw.   Gems were from Bo Bunny and Michael's.

Nativity Card

This Christmas nativity card was cut with the Inspired Heart cartridge, at 3 1/4", with the shadow.   The mat paper is from Simple Stories 25 Days of Christmas.   I added some burgundy velvet ribbon and the cartouche sentiment that I cut with an EK Success punch and then stamped with an Inkadinkado sentiment and added some Michael's gems.

Hocus Pocus

I love making Halloween cards!  I think there is just so much inspiration when it comes to Halloween!  This one started with the chevron paper from My Mind's Eye - Lime Twist 'Fly a Kite' 6x6 stack.   Not a Halloween stack but, a great paper for Halloween!

I decided the focal point would be the rosette which is the spider rosette from the Ribbons and Rosette's cartridge.   I cut 4 of them at 2" each and glued them together. I cut the center medallion from that cartridge as well but, it wasn't the spider cut.  I do know that it was cut using the real size dial and 2 1/4" in green and 2" in orange.  The Hocus Pocus stamp is from Studio G and then I inked the edges of the medallions.

I added a black strip of paper that I embossed using the Spiderweb folder and then added a strip of ribbon from the Target dollar bin.   My final addition was the spider stamped from Inkadinkado.

On the inside, I used some spiderweb stamps and the spider from Inkadinkado and a sentiment from Studio G.   I really love how bright this card turned out for a Halloween card.  :)

I'm Not Scared

This card is a simple Halloween card.   The paper is all DCWV and then the purple center strip, I border punched with a Martha Stewart punch and added a piece of lime green ribbon from Michael's that has silver glitter spiderwebs on it.   The sentiment in the center is from the DCWV paper and punched using a circle punch.   Then the spiderweb cut is from Pumpkin Carvings at 3"   I put a shadow of green behind it and then pleated tulle behind the entire centerpiece.   I added some fake plastic spiders and black floss for the webs.  Happy Halloween!

Kidlet Owl Birthday

I can't tell you how much I love the new 6x6 DCWV stacks that Joann's is carrying right now.   LOVE!!!  and I hope that they are many more to come!!
This owl card is one of the sheets in the Kidlet stack.   I added the Happy Birthday flag sentiment at the top, over the 'welcome' that was there.   The stamp is from Martha Stewart crafts.   And I used an EK Success border punch to punch the side and then put a strip of blue paper underneath.   Simple card and so cute!

Baby Elephant

A cute baby card today using the Elephant from Everyday Pop Up Cards cut at 4" and using some yarn on the tail.   The paper for the Elephant was K&Co Itsy Bitsy collection and then the background strips, I border punched using a Martha Stewart punch.   The sentiments are from Scrappy Moms 'The charmed life' set, stamped onto cartouche's cut from an EK Success punch.

Let's Ketchup

Well, we are certainly nearing the summer season and this sentiment was the inspiration for this card.   The stamp is from Scrappy Mom's and the paper from DCWV.   The fries that were cut from the Fast Food cartridge at 3".  On the inside, I used both papers and a Fiskar's sentiment.

Relish the Day

Could this card be any better?  Perfect for the sentiment.   The Hot dog is cut from Fast Food at 2 1/4", with the layers and some inking.   I mounted it onto paper from My Mind's Eye Dilly Dally set.   I added a little red and white twine from Martha Stewart Crafts and then stamped the Scrappy Mom's sentiment onto the back of a raffle ticket and I attached the tickets with an eyelet.
On the inside, I used a piece of Double Dot paper, a strip of twine and stamped a sentiment from Hero Arts Studio Calico.

Enjoy the Ride

Today's card is for my BFF's hubby's BD.   I cut the Motor Cycle from the Father's Day cartridge at 3 1/4" with the layers.   I added some color for the head light and the tail light and then I added some mirrored paper on the back for the engine and exhaust pipe, so that it would look like chrome.
The paper is from Teresa Collins World Traveler and some silver that I embossed using the diamond plate folder.
The street sign is from K&Co., stamped with a Fiskar's sentiment.  As you can see from the sideways picture of the inside, I embossed the sides of the inside with the diamond plate and added a stamp by Studio G.

2012 Graduation

With graduation upon us, I realized that I never posted this 2012 graduation card.  This was the only one that I had to make last year and it turned into festive Red White and Blue one.   Well, the high school's colors are red and blue so, where can you go from there?   The mat paper on this one is from Basic Grey's PB&J collection.  Then I corner punched the corners with the EK Success corner punch, followed by the matching border punch on the right and left edges only since the card wasn't the right measurements to do it all around the mat.

The cut is from Hello Kitty Greetings & Salutations cartridge, cut at 3 1/2" and I stamped the '12 on the ribbon with some Martha Stewart number stamps.   The blue strip of red starts was using the same EK Success border punch and some of the punched stars used to decorate the paper as well.
The stamped sentiment on the from is from Hampton Arts and really was how this become so patriotic.

I used another strip of punched paper as a border inside as well as a sentiment stamp from TPC Studio and the cap/tassel stamp from Stamps Happen

Dad Moustache

This is an off shoot version of another Father's Day card that I made using the same paper and tag sentiment. I started with the very distinguished top hat paper from the Recollections 'Regent Street' stack.   If you don't already know, these papers are made by DCWV but, marketed with the Michael's Craft Store 'Recollections' brand.
The striped paper is from My Mind's Eye, Lost and Found, Breeze collection and the rest are solids.   The 'Ticket' was simple to make.   I used parchment paper about  1 3/4" x 3" and then used a 1/2" circle punch in the center of both ends to cut a half circle out, making it look like a ticket.   The mustache stamp is from an Inkadinkado set, stamped in brown, and the sentiment is from Studio G.   It was all one sentiment so I masked off the word dad and then stamped it in brown and then masked off the words happy and day and then stamped DAD in blue.  I used a punch to punch a ribbon strip into both chocolate brown tickets at the ends.   Then, I ran small strips of brown velvet ribbon through and attached them to the back.

The inside sentiment is a Studio G, along with a smaller mustache from the Inkadinkado set.

Happy Dad Day

I LOVE the way that this card turned out!  I started with the very distinguished top hat paper from the Recollections 'Regent Street' stack.   If you don't already know, these papers are made by DCWV but, marketed with the Michael's Craft Store 'Recollections' brand.

On the inside, I used a strip of the top hat paper and another Studio G sentiment.

Father's Day Toolbox

This card is a horizontal business size card, made using the Father's Day cartridge.
I cut the toolbox at 3 3/4" and then added some silver mirror paper on the box latches and the hammer head.   I also added white to the tape.
The mat paper is from October Afternoon 5 and Dime and then I masked a ruler stamp from Bo Bunny and stamped it vertically and then stamped the 'Man of the House' sentiment in the ruler.  All of the sentiment stamps and the wrenches inside are from Studio G.

Golf Birthday

Today I have a simple card from Wrap It Up, a birthday card for a friend.   Paper was from DCWV Stripes and Dots.   I cut the golf club base at 5" in a metallic gray and then again in black.   I trimmed off the clubs on the black cut and then layered them together.   I added two solid pieces of paper over the plaid.

On the inside, I added a black strip and a strip of the plaid and then a stamped sentiment.

Green & Navy Damask

Seems that I am starting to get attached to these card functions, for quick birthday cards.  This one is Damask31, cut at 5 1/2".   I love this navy and green apple color combo!  I added a mounted sentiment using all three colors and a strip of ribbon from Michael's.   The ribbon is actually printed with a green pattern but it was much brighter than what I needed so, I flipped it over.   When you see the card up close, you can see the green design.

What are little boys made of?

I have to say that I love the way that this card turned out!  It's a tri-fold card with the 'What are Little Boys Made of' theme.   The first panel is the Snail from B is for Boy cartridge.   The snail is cut at 4" and then the brown layers of the shell, I used glossy accents to make them stand out.
The paper is from My Mind's Eye On the Bright Side and I trimmed the corners and the left vertical border with Fiskar's Pinking Shears.  The vellum sentiments were cut from a Colorbok collection.   I added the frog stamp from Fiskar's Creepy Crawly set and the colored metal adhesives from Heidi Grace.

The second panel also features paper from the My Mind's Eye, On the Bright Side collection and the dog is cut from B is for Boy at 4".   I used the pinking shears on the horizontal border but then I hand cut the chevron paper into three sections.   The vellum sentiment is mounted onto the same paper from the front , as well as the dog's hat.   I added a touch of Christmas Red Stickles to the 'helicopter' on his hat and some glossy accents to his nose.

The inside features more cuts with the shears and the rest of the vellum sentiment adhered to a piece of the chevron paper from panel #2 and the zig zag corners cut from panel #1.

Yellow & Purple Combo

Here are my latest cards using the negative cuts from the Damask Decor bedroom collage that I made.   I have a bag full of them and I use them when I need some go to cards.   I used Fiskars stamps and the paper was the same sheet but, I can't recall the stack I used.

Vintage Halloween

I know it's not the season but I made this card last year and sent it in for submission to Cricut magazine but, it wasn't chosen.   Authentique has a link challenge going on for National Scrapbook Day so, I thought I would post it and link because I still love it so!!  This is one of my favorite Halloween cards (that I've made).  All of the paper on this card (except for solids) are from the Authentique Glowing collection which I LOVE!!

The framed witch is the frame7 cut from Happy Hauntings, with the layers, at 4".   I used a fiskars punch on the corners and then inked the edges with black ink.   I used some ruffled orange and cream ribbon from American Crafts and then pop dotted the mounted from over top.   The sentiment is from Studio G and says "best witches".

Mom's Day Flourish

Mother's Day is just around the corner I'm still using up some of the negative cuts from some large Damask cuts that I did last year.   The purple flourish above is one of those.   The framed sentiment is from the Twinkle Toes cartridge at 2" and then the top, teal layer was hand cut using a corner rounder on the corners.   I added some teal pearls that are matched to Core'Dinations colors and a stamped sentiment from Studio G.   The embossing folder is Victoria from Cuttlebug.

Birthday Tunes

How about some Birthday tunes?!  These headphones are from Wild Card 2 cut at 2 1/2" and then I added some black cord to them.  The mat paper is from DCWV Generation Tech stack.   I added some Making Memories star brads and the sentiment from Ditto.   The inside sentiment is Imaginisce.

Simple Stories Birthday Cards

Here are a couple of Simple cards I made just using the Simple Stories Happy Day 6x6 pad and some solid paper.   The for top one, I used an EK Success border punch for the scallops as well.

For this ice cream one, I stamped the Studio G sentiment on the front of the ice cream tag and embossed the blue solid sheet with the Cuttlebug Seeing Spots folder.

This last one, I stamped the hot air balloon and sentiment from Studio G and then added some Target ribbon and embossed the yellow solid mat with the Seeing Spots again.

A Natural Gnome

Ah the gnome.   I think this is the sole reason that I wanted the Freshly Picked cartridge.   I cut him at 3 1/2" for this card.   The floral paper is from the Crate Paper Farmhouse collection.   I embossed the orange sheet with a Lifestyle Crafts folder and then trimmed it off on each side with some gold velvet ribbon.   The garden marker was cut by hand and then stamped the sentiment from Studio G.

Foodbank Girl Scout Swap

If you aren't familiar with Girl Scouts, they make these little pins called SWAPS that they trade at different events that they have.   The pins are supposed to represent activities or trips that they did.
In March, our troop went to the area Food Bank so, the SWAPS I made were these mini grocery bags with some dried items.
I made the bags by using a 3 1/4" x 1 1/4" strip of craft paper.   I scored it long ways at 1", 1 1/2", 2 1/2", and 3".   I also scored it long ways at 1", leaving the 1/4" at the bottom to be folded in.   I cut the top of the bag, on the long side with pinking shears and then folded all the scores.   I glued the bottom flaps in to make the bottom of the bag and then the 1/3" extra tab of the short side, glued to make the bag itself.   I hot glued a noodle, a kidney bean, and an orange and banana runt in the bag and a pin on the back of the bag.

A Special Gnome

This gnome was for my niece for her BD.   The papers are from DCWV Green Stack.   I cut the gnome at 3 1/2" from Freshly Picked and then hand stamped the flag pole and added the sentiment from Studio G and trimmed it down to the flag shape of the stamp.   The 'trim' is actually a Martha Stewart punch that is a double sided border.   It turned out really cute with the border.

Simple Baby Cards

IN an effort to build up some 'stock' of cards, I am making several different versions of cards when I use a 12x12 sheet.   Today's sheet was from GBC paper and the stack is called Chic Baby.

This first card was a standard card and I used the brown pinstripe paper from the stack as well.   The solid was embossed using the Diamond folder from Sizzex.   I used the circle cutter to cut the two circles and then a Recollections baby stamp.  The inside is a Studio G stamp.

I think this second one is one of my favorites!  I used circle punch to punch out the elephant from the paper and then framed it in craft paper and in red solid.   The border I cut using a Martha Stewart border punch for each color.   The inside sentiment is from Studio G.

This long version also uses the Martha Stewart border punch but, I added a piece of ribbon from American Crafts and a sentiment from Studio G on the from and the inside.
